Programs Overview
The foundational curriculum for these programs is for beginners, those who would like to see if the construction management career is for them. It has been organized for those with or without a college degree who would like an overview of the profession. There is no application process and upon completion of the three-course series, students will receive an LSU digital badge that can be used for online résumés and personal websites. In addition, these are college courses that can be fully transferred into LSU’s Online Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM). These eight-week courses can also be used for continuing education units/credits required by some certifications and licenses.

Bachelor of Science in Construction Management
The management of construction has seen dramatic changes and growth in the last few decades and has resulted in increased risk, responsibilities and obligation for the Constructor. The Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (campus and online delivery) degree program has a curriculum designed to blend engineering, architecture, design, technology, and business to produce a professional who can manage construction processes effectively and efficiently. CM graduates have industry accepted skills and acquire the much needed knowledge necessary to execute the responsibilities and obligations required for their profession. Graduates taking the Certified Professional Constructor process receive formal recognition of the education and experience that defines the Constructor as a professional.
Bachelor of Science in Fire and Emergency Services Administration
The online Bachelor of Science in Fire & Emergency Services Administration from LSU addresses critical challenges, such as coastal vulnerability and security concerns. By integrating expertise in emergency management with construction management and disaster science principles, students are equipped to develop resilient infrastructure and respond effectively to disasters, mitigate risks, and enhance community resilience.
Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering (CONE)
The construction industry is undergoing rapid change driven by infrastructure investment, advanced manufacturing, sustainability expectations, and digital delivery methods. The Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering (CONE) degree program blends civil engineering, construction management, and business/technical sales to prepare graduates to plan, design, and execute construction projects effectively. Graduates develop the technical depth expected of an engineering program while gaining project delivery, contract, and field execution skills required to lead teams and deliver safe, high-quality projects.
Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Construction Management
This is a degree program approved through the Board of Regents. It is the first online post baccalaureate degree program ever to be offered by Louisiana State University. The PBC will be conferred upon students who demonstrate work of high merit that entails scholarship and outstanding academic achievement through six online CM courses specifically designed to provide the basic core knowledge needed for a construction manager. Students who complete the requirements for the PBC program will acquire a perspective on the role of Construction Management in both industry and society. This online program will prepare career change graduate students (especially those architecture and business) or qualified military personnel. It will provide industry and governmental agencies with qualified individuals with skills sets developed using construction management core principles.
Post Baccalaureate Certificate in Facilities Management
The primary purpose of the proposed online program is to make available to online students at Louisiana State University a certificate in facilities management (FM). The Certificate will be conferred upon students who demonstrate work of high merit that entails scholarship and outstanding academic achievement through six courses specifically designed for the program. Students who complete the requirements for the Certificate program will acquire a perspective on the role of Facility Manager. A launch of the FM certificate program will benefit the state of Louisiana and the nation by advancing the field of facility management and creating future industry leaders.
Master of Science in Construction Management
The LSU Online professional version of the Master of Science in Construction Management has been developed by global academic leaders in construction education. It is intended for the military, industry professional or for those interested in a career change who are unable to attend traditional lectures and have access to the Internet. It is a professional practice-orientated advanced degree that offers a unique blend of 36 credit hours of construction management and business management courses. The degree is designed to develop leaders/managers for building projects with mastery in the best practices contained within sustainability, building information modeling, project delivery, and decision making. Those without a construction related baccalaureate degree may be required to complete leveling (foundation) CM courses prior to graduation.
Those LSU ONLINE Master of Science in Construction Management (MSCM) students without construction management, engineering, or architectural baccalaureate degrees are required to complete leveling (foundation) CM courses prior to entering the MSCM program. If all courses are completed successfully, one can also earn a Post Baccalaureate in Certificate in Construction Management. This is a degree approved by the LSU Board of Regents and is part of the campus graduation ceremonies.
